THURSDAY 3 NOVEMBER 6.30-8.30pm at ST FRANCIS XAVIER CHURCH HALL,
17 MACKENZIE ST, LAVENDER BAY (NORTH SYDNEY)
The Sydney book launch is fast approaching and I’m hoping to see many familiar faces there as well as new ones. I promise you the evening will be more life affirming than morbid. Many of us spend much of our life trying to avoid the fact that we are mortal and will die, so I hope that this evening (and book!) will encourage us all to talk more about death … while we are alive. After all, death is part of life.
Steve Bradley will MC the evening and, after I’ve said a few words on why I wrote this book and what I found etc, four contributors will share their unique and very authentic contributions about death:
- Gail O’Brien – Non Executive Director of Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and physiotherapist
- Dr Peter Saul – ICU doctor at John Hunter Hospital Newcastle
- Di Roche – ICU Chaplain at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney
- Peter Shine – Gomeroi Aboriginal man and Director of Aboriginal Health, Northern Sydney Local Health District.
Peter Shine will also give the Welcome to Country.
I am delighted that Jessie Williams, an Australian social entrepreneur and Chair of the Groundswell Project will launch the book.
Do come! Books will be available for sale on the night courtesy of Lindfield Bookshop.
Email me if you would like to come and I look forward to seeing you there.
